ABOUT ME

I don’t think it is enough to describe myself as a music enthusiast. I feel like I understand music better than I understand people. I know that not every person can connect with music this way, and I for one feel very grateful to have what feels like a second language of communication.

In my opinion, the most interesting thing about the brain is how we interpret the world around us. More specifically, how we interpret something like a piece of music, and how it has the ability to physically or emotionally move us. Why do athletes listen to a specific piece of music before a game? I understand there is a science behind how we perceive music, and would like to share my findings with anyone who is interested.

This is a blog that discusses music composing and music psychology. The opinions expressed here represent my own, and I do not expect everyone to agree. In addition, my thoughts and opinions change from time to time, which I consider a necessary consequence of having an open mind. In the discussion of science, my sources are drawn from psychological journals, but no studies can 100% confirm or deny any relation between variables of study. Tracks for Snacks is not liable for any ramifications due to any reliance one may have on my blog posts. I do my best to be as accurate as possible with my blog posting, and if anyone has any issues with the way in which I write, do not hesitate to contact me via email.
